Hello DFRobot team,

I am interested in using your DFR1026 DC-DC Charge Discharge Integrated Module (5V/2A) for an Arduino-based project.

I have already contacted your technical support by email, but I have not received a reply yet. I hope someone here can help me clarify two important technical details.

1. Low-load operation

I measured the actual power consumption of my project:

Idle mode: 18–20 mA at 5VAverage operating current: approximately 133 mAShort current peaks: up to 200 mA

My device needs to remain powered continuously, even when idle for several hours.

Does the DFR1026 automatically switch off its 5V output when the load current is very low?

Specifically:

Will the 5V output remain continuously enabled with a constant load of only 18–20 mA?Is there a minimum load current required to keep the output enabled? Can automatic low-load shutdown be disabled, if implemented?

2. Battery under-voltage protection

I intend to use one standard, unprotected 18650 Li-ion cell (3.6/3.7V nominal, 4.2V fully charged).

Could you please confirm:

Does the DFR1026 provide integrated protection against battery over-discharge?What is the exact battery voltage at which the module disconnects the cell?Does the module automatically resume operation after the battery is recharged? Is the integrated protection sufficient to safely use an unprotected 18650 cell without an additional 1S BMS?

I have reviewed the product documentation, but these particular specifications are not clearly stated.

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards Morty
