XBee shield howto?

I recently bought a DFRobot Xbee Shield v1.4 for use with my seedstudio Wifi Bee (http://www.seeedstudio.com/wiki/Wifi_Bee). I need to program my Wifi Bee and i was wondering in which position i have to put the switches and wether i need to remove my arduino from the board. Can someone provide me with the steps necessary to program my module using this shield?
i already checked the product manual in the wiki but as it is just a description of Xbee technology it has been no help.
Thanks in advance,
Frank

There is 3 possible positions for the shield jumpers:
1. USB side: Configure the Xbee module directly. (this is the option you want).
2. Xbee side: Let the Arduino communicate with the Xbee module directly. (This is the option you will want to use after you have configured your wifi_bee).
3. No jumpers: Lets you program the Arduino directly without having to remove the shield.
