WPM for Arduino Configuration Tools not connecting

Hi!
I'm using the IO Expansion Shield For Arduino(V5) on the Arduino UNO to control a servo wirelessly through grasshopper. This seem like a simple enough project. I followed the instructions, but when I try to configure the WMP for Arduino it says "Port Open Error".
I set the WPM to 1:MODE on and 2:PROG_EN off
Plugged it into my computer to run the WirelessProgrammer.exe
Com Port: COM5
Baud Rate 115200
Arduino UNO
AirRate 250K
Timeout 20
Module ID 192 168 1 1 1
Frequency 125
Press Connect WPM and it says "Port Open Error"
The only time that it does anything else is if my Arduino is connected and it runs a ton of numbers over and over again.
"157,155,155,154,157,156,0,0,0,eol"
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

What operating sys are you running? You could try to completely remove the driver, re-boot, and re-install the driver see if that fixes the problem...

I tried it with two other PCs and it worked perfectly for both. So what could be the problem with my desktop? I have installed the drivers for both the Arduino and WPMs.

2012-08-22 00:47:07 Hi,
It seems like their might be a problem with your PC recognizing the WPMs. Do you have another PC to try with? does it show the same behavior?
Let me know.

2012-08-21 08:59:06 Hi,
So I've got the WPMs working, but not consistently. Each day I have to reconnect them using the WirelessProgrammer. Is this normal? It seems like you should only have to do that once and they should be connected until you have to reconfigure it to different settings.
Also, I have issues everytime I have to reconfigure the WPMs. Sometimes I have to unplug and plug back in to get it to connect. Other times, it works only after I restart my computer with it still plugged in. Right now, I can't figure out how to connect the WPMs. One of them reconfigures fine and when I press "ATENTER" all of the settings come up. The other says that its connected but when I press "ATENTER" nothing happens.
I am at a loss for what to do.

2012-08-15 09:24:58 Hi Hector,
I'm using a USB Xbee adapter V2. That was exactly it! Thanks! So that that works and I can program them, but now when I have them each connected plugged in to the USB Xbee adapter V2 and the I/O Expansion Shield for Arduino(V5) respectively, none of the lights come on. And when I try to upload a sketch in arduino.exe this error comes up:
"avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00"
which when I press shift says this:
"avrdude: usbdev_open(): did not find any USB device "usb""
1) 1:Mode turned ON when I connect.
2) Go through all the steps configure with WPM at 57600bps, then change the baud rate to 115200.
3) Switch the 1:Mode to OFF.
4) Click "Disconnect"
5) Switch out WPM and configure the 2nd one.
6) Click "Disconnect"
7) with one WPM connected to the USB Xbee adapter V2 and one connected to the I/O Expansion Shield for Arduino(V5) and both 1:Mode and 2:Prog_EN set to OFF shouldn't one or both of the LEDs be on?
I don't understand why even though it says they're configured the same, they still can't connect.
At no point does the blue LED 'Link' turn on. The most it will do is flash briefly. The red 'MODE' LED turns on only when the MODE switch is turned on.
Also, I only have to plug each WPM in to configure them once as long as the settings are the same right?
Does the WPM have the same capabilities of wireless communication as well as wireless uploading like the XBEE?
Thanks again! This was extremely helpful!

2012-08-14 17:03:26 Hi kahajash,
Ok I'll write the steps here lets make sure you are doing it in the right order.
to make sure; you are using a USB Xbee adapter V1 or V2?
You have confirmed which port it is on.
You need to configure the WPM with 57600bps the first time(Setting section). This is probably the problem. Once you talk to it you can change the baud rate(Baud rate section).
Don't need to change anything on the AirRate, time out, or frequency...
So:
in settings window:
1. select com port
2. set baud rate
3. Select Arduino UNO from drop down menu.
4. Connect WPM.
IF you still do not see any info on the right window, try pressing the "ATENTER" button and "SEND" a few times. This should get the WPM module working.
Let me know your results.
