Bluetooth Bee in Master Mode

I can't get the Bluetooth Bee (TEL0026) as a master device to automatically connect to another bluetooth device, a lego NXT.
I have set up the device in AT mode and in AT mode I can establish a link to the NXT by typing in the various AT commands. However, when I power down, switch the device into non AT mode and re-power it does not establish a link. The link LED doesn't light.
I can establish a link to the bluetooth bee from my MAC if it is configured in slave mode, so I think the hardware is okay.
What are the sequence of AT commands I need to configure the Bluetooth Bee in master mode to automatically connect to a known bluetooth device?
Has any one managed to get this to work?
Thanks.

Have you checked the datasheet and the AT commands? you could set it up on master mode and no pairing, or binding mode. But I am not sure if this is possible or not.
Or you could set arduino to manually connect with AT commands, just code it or add it to your setup and give it a try. I believe that when it is in non AT mode, you can still trigger AT mode with some key commands.
From what i read on the datasheet, it looks like after you set it up as master, you have to disable AT mode before you power cycle. Have you tried that?
Best,
Jose
