GPS/GPRS/GSM Shield Cannot get Position FIX

I just bought this shield and started working with it. this week.
I have an active SIM and I can send and receive SMS and GPRS ..
I have been getting valid sentences from the GPS module but no matter where I am (indoors, outdoors, driving...) I just haven't been able to get a position fix.
I checked the antenna connection and it seems ok..
is this unit faulty and if so how do I replace it with a working one?

Try it outdoors, and wait. Sometimes for several minutes but it entirely depends on the satellites available at your location at that time. For better results while testing, make sure no big buildings or others are blocking direct line of sight with sky.
