DFRobot Arduino Compatible Fingerprint Module delivers compact biometric authentication for embedded electronics and smart access systems. Built around a high‑speed DSP processor, this UART fingerprint scanner performs rapid image acquisition, template generation, and matching without requiring a host computer. Native serial communication enables straightforward integration with Arduino boards and a wide range of microcontrollers. With onboard storage for up to 1000 fingerprints, this biometric identification module supports secure identity verification across robotics, IoT devices, and embedded security products where reliable and fast fingerprint recognition is required.
Standalone Biometric Processing
An integrated high‑speed DSP processor enables independent fingerprint acquisition, processing, comparison, and searching directly within the sensor module. No external PC software or host computer is required for biometric matching operations. This embedded fingerprint recognition unit performs enrollment, template generation, and verification internally, reducing development complexity and processor workload for the main controller while ensuring stable authentication performance in embedded security systems.
Large Fingerprint Storage Capacity
The biometric authentication board supports storage for up to 1000 fingerprint templates, making the hardware suitable for multi‑user identification systems. Built‑in matching algorithms support both 1:1 comparison mode and 1:N search mode for rapid identification within the onboard database. With an average search time under one second and configurable security levels, the fingerprint sensing module balances fast response with strong verification accuracy for access control and identity management projects.
Flexible UART Integration with Multiple MCUs
A TTL UART communication interface allows straightforward integration with numerous embedded platforms including MSP430, 51 series controllers, AVR, PIC, STM32, ARM processors, and FPGA‑based systems. Adjustable baud rates provide compatibility with various development environments, enabling this biometric interface module to serve as a universal fingerprint recognition component in custom electronics, industrial prototypes, and hardware authentication designs.
Reliable Recognition for Wet and Dry Fingers
Optimized image acquisition hardware and internal processing algorithms maintain strong sensitivity across different fingerprint conditions. The sensing area captures clear ridge patterns from both dry and slightly moist fingers, supporting stable enrollment and recognition performance. Low false acceptance and false rejection rates improve system reliability in real‑world installations such as security terminals, electronic locks, and identity verification devices.
Typical applications include biometric door locks, electronic attendance systems, secure storage boxes, motorcycle or vehicle ignition systems, and embedded authentication terminals. This UART fingerprint identification sensor replaces traditional password entry, IC cards, or mechanical switches, enabling compact and convenient biometric security solutions in IoT devices, robotics projects, and STEM Education demonstrations.
