Arudino Speech Synthesis Shield

Anyway when I run the sample code from the arudnio library all I get is a poping noise from the speaker. Am I missing something or could the board be defective? Please let me know. Thanks.

Did you power the board via USB? If so, I guess the output current is not enough. Maybe you can try to connect a 7-12V external power supply to Arduino. Wendy.Hu
