I am currently dual booting using windows 11  23H2 ; and

Linux Mint  22.2

over the last few months while doing windows updates, the suggested Win 11  24H2 would download but not install…. no reason given apart from my computer was not able to do that.

Now the Win 11   25H2 update is out….  I need to get this updated before I get left behind.

Any suggestions or reports of successful installation of the latest Win 11 would be appreciated as I am stuck on Win 11  23H2

Because you dual-boot with Linux Mint, you likely use UEFI — but it's worth confirming that settings like TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are properly configured, as newer Windows versions may rely on them.

Thanks for your reply. by watching the below video, I just followed the instructions , and it overwrote and installed the upgrade….. without affecting the boot loader or my linux Mint 22.2 installation.(Dual boot SSD)

It is a clever method.

No usb stick!!  It is EUFI.

But you have to get your command dead right, or it doesn't work.

In my case it did not offer the option to save all….. that option was greyed out. So I selected the next best option and had to reinstall some programs. I had my data fully backed up, so everything is OK….. so far the Linux is still working a day later. I call that successful.

I now have Win 11 25H2 + Linux Mint 22.2……… and it all works
