LattePanda Mu and low-latency audio

Hi ! I'm trying to decide whether to use the LattePanda Mu in an embedded musical instrument plateform I'm designing. I'm now trying to find the best solution for low-latency audio while having good performance in a x86 SBC or compute module. Do anyone know if the HD Audio drivers in the LattePanda Mu work well ? Is I2S an option if I want to integrate audio codecs for 1/4 inch or XLR audio jack connectors in my project ?
