Problem with Parallax Ping sensor and Romeo v 1.1

Hello, I've a problem with my project. It's based on a Pirate-4WD Mobile Platform with a Romeo v1.1 mircrocontroller. I've connected a bluetooth adapter to the controller and the remote control is ok. Now, I want to add an autopilot based on a Parallax Ping sensor to avoid obstacle. The problem is that when the 4 motors go forward, the sensor don't ping the distance every time, I suppose, because there ins't enought power for the sensor.
Have you a solution? Thanks!

Please be careful not to provide too high a voltage for your sensors...most sensors are designed to work with 5v or 3.3v only...

2012-08-25 02:23:17 Hi, at this moment I use only the 5 AA batteries. I've tried with a 9v battery connected at the plug of the Romeo. But when motor are active, the sensor don't work. I want to use the 9v battery for the sensor but I don't understand how/where connect it to power the sensor.
Sensor power is connect at the 5v pin. Can you explain how I can use the external battery for the sensor? Thanks!

What power source are you using? You should probably be using 2 batteries. 1 for the motors only, and 1 for the Romeo along with any other sensors, if you are using more than 1 servo, you might also consider adding a third battery for servo control.
