Introduction

FireBeetle 2 Board‑M0 (V1.0) is a compact low‑power development board built around the ATSAMD21G18 ARM Cortex‑M0+ processor, delivering up to 48 MHz performance with 32KB RAM and 256KB Flash. Designed for efficient embedded prototyping, this microcontroller platform integrates 16MB SPI Flash and a built‑in 12MB flash drive for seamless data exchange between desktop environments and embedded applications. As part of the FireBeetle ecosystem, this compact controller supports flexible expansion and easy integration with popular platforms such as Arduino environments, making the board suitable for portable IoT devices, smart electronics, and rapid prototyping projects.

Note: FireBeetle 2 and FireBeetle pins and sizes are not compatible, and neither are the expansion boards.

High‑Performance ARM Cortex‑M0+ Architecture

The embedded ATSAMD21G18 microcontroller provides a 48 MHz ARM Cortex‑M0+ core with 32KB RAM and 256KB Flash memory, offering significantly greater memory capacity compared with traditional ATmega328‑based boards. This efficient processing platform supports advanced embedded applications requiring faster execution, larger firmware storage, and improved multitasking capability. Such architecture enables this low‑power microcontroller board to handle sensor networks, data processing tasks, and connected IoT applications while maintaining excellent power efficiency.

Integrated SPI Flash Storage and Multilingual Word Library

This embedded development platform integrates 16MB SPI Flash alongside a built‑in 12MB flash drive, simplifying file management and firmware interaction with desktop systems. SPI Flash‑based storage allows convenient data logging, resource storage, and application databases directly on the board. An integrated multilingual word library stored in SPI Flash enables direct display of characters including Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, making this microcontroller solution especially useful for display‑based devices and embedded interface systems.

Compact Hardware Design with Enhanced Interfaces

The compact controller board features a modern USB Type‑C connector for reliable power delivery and programming, accompanied by a convenient horizontal power switch for improved usability in embedded installations. An onboard WS2812 RGB indicator provides visual system feedback, while the integrated FPC connector enables flexible connection to external displays and peripherals. This compact electronics platform combines rich functionality with a small footprint, allowing seamless integration into portable devices, wearable prototypes, and space‑constrained electronic designs.

Typical uses include IoT nodes, portable data logging systems, smart display devices, and educational embedded prototypes. The compact development board supports rapid experimentation with sensors, displays, and communication modules, making the platform suitable for electronics learning, product prototyping, and interactive hardware projects.
