Introduction

Printed Sensors are flexible paper-based sensing elements screen‑printed with Electric Paint, designed for rapid prototyping of touch and proximity interactions. Each sheet features an intricate conductive pattern that functions as a capacitive sensing surface while remaining lightweight and easy to modify. A protective waterproof varnish layer shields the conductive traces from humidity and smudging, enabling reliable performance during experimentation. Sixteen exposed access nodes provide convenient connection points for external electronics, allowing integration with development boards, capacitive sensing controllers, and interactive prototypes used in maker projects, interactive art, and STEM learning environments.

Flexible and Customizable Paper Sensor Design

This printed sensing sheet uses conductive Electric Paint deposited onto paper to create a patterned capacitive sensing surface. The structure allows cutting, folding, and shaping without complex fabrication processes. Designers and engineers can easily trim sections to form smaller sensing pads, directional buttons, or custom electrode shapes. Rapid modification capability supports experimentation during early prototype development, interactive installations, or educational electronics projects where quick iteration and low‑cost sensing components are essential.

Water‑Resistant Protective Coating

A sealed varnish layer protects the conductive surface against moisture, fingerprints, and smudging. This protective treatment maintains conductivity stability even during frequent handling or repeated touch interaction. Such durability makes the capacitive sensing sheet suitable for paper‑based interfaces, interactive posters, educational demonstrations, or temporary installations where exposed conductive paint alone might degrade or crack.

16 Accessible Capacitive Connection Nodes

Sixteen exposed contact points provide straightforward electrical access to the printed electrode pattern. Each node can connect to sensing inputs using crocodile clips, conductive tape, or cold‑soldering methods. The multi‑node layout enables segmentation of the sheet into numerous independent sensors or expansion into multi‑input interfaces such as touch keypads, interactive game controllers, or proximity‑activated lighting systems.

Flexible printed sensing sheets support rapid creation of interactive prototypes including proximity detectors, paper touch switches, creative controllers, and experimental human‑machine interfaces. Such lightweight capacitive sensing components are widely used in interactive art installations, rapid electronics prototyping, classroom demonstrations, and STEM Education projects where simple, modifiable sensing hardware accelerates experimentation.
