This TF-UW500 underwater single-point LiDAR adopts a dToF (direct Time-of-Flight) solution for precise underwater distance measurement. With a compact 24x16x20.4mm form factor, low average power consumption, and a ranging capability beyond 5m under specified low-turbidity conditions, this underwater LiDAR supports mapping, positioning, and navigation for pool-cleaning and other underwater robots.
Note: This TF-UW500 underwater LiDAR does not include a back cover and has no waterproof protection rating. Waterproof sealing must be incorporated into the external structure during product integration to ensure safe operation underwater.

10× Extended Range for Underwater Perception
Compared with the previous generation, the TF-UW500 increases detection range tenfold in low-turbidity water. The dToF ranging system combines a narrow 0.5° field of view with a Class 1 laser, providing a small optical spot, strong directionality, and a wide usable incidence angle. This optical ranging approach also helps minimize multipath interference compared with traditional ultrasonic sensing.

Centimeter-Level Accuracy for Mapping and Positioning
This underwater LiDAR provides accuracy of < 3cm and repeatability of < 1cm @ 1σ across the 0.1 ~ 2m range, together with 1mm distance resolution. In most residential swimming pools, these ranging capabilities support full-path coordinate positioning and mapping, helping reduce accumulated inertial drift and enabling pool-cleaning robots to maintain straighter and more stable movement paths.

Stable Ranging under Strong Light and Turbid Water
Hardware-level filtering and anti-glare algorithms enable the TF-UW500 to resist ambient light interference up to 100Klux. Calibration across more than 10 common pool materials further supports consistent distance measurement under varying underwater surfaces and water conditions, helping underwater robots maintain smoother navigation in strong light or turbid environments.
